Self-Destructive Sand Man

Self-Destructive Sand Man

KjO’Boyle

Overjoyed she ran to Him – arms outstretched wide.

But when she got there- He was cold as ice.

Shot her black, blank stares, through rusted eyes.

Her soul became crusted . . . . instantly.

Instantly she dried.

Instantly her light, her freedom, her love, shriveled and died.

Like a Sand Man blown away.

Frozen, fried, and dispersed throughout the desert.

Her particles, one by one, but part of the greater haze-

Blasted Into The Wind!

Left behind no trace – of any prior concrete being.

And he was breathing stone – an inspiring statue.

Astute.

Finite.

Direct.

Unabashed.

There was no time for confusion – This was a first.

No time for question.

His response caused a reaction in her-

Hurled faster than light speed.

Faster than anything she’d ever felt before.

So, though blown away-

She Craved More.
